South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) invites interested and suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Admin Clerk to be based in Saldanha Bay.
Position: Admin Clerk
Job Type: Permanent
Grade: B3 Office: Saldanha Bay Office (Western Region)
The above position will report to the Senior Office Admin
JOB PURPOSE To render general administration and office related duties, and further ensure an efficient and effective interface with the public and to provide support to the Surveyor Support Clerk when required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative support
• Responsible for carrying out any capturing and scanning tasks related to the Deck, Engineering and Radio applications on SIOMS, or any photocopying that may be required within the office
• Responsible for typing certificates correctly
• Arrange for parcels to be collected and couriered
• Assist Seamans book applications
Client Liaison
• Assist clients at the reception
• Assist clients telephonically/direct them to the appropriate staff members
Archiving
• Assist with the maintenance of the office files and archive in accordance with the SAMSA file plan
General support
• Responsible for the upkeep of the stationery/ furniture in the office with support from the line manager
• Check stocks and replenish, when necessary, via SCM
*Tasks may also include any other work that may be required from time to time (not listed above) as instructed by management.
REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade 12
• Higher Certificate/ NQF Level 5 qualification in Office Administration or equivalent.
• Candidate must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
EXPERIENCE
• 3 years’ administrative experience is required
